Maintenance programs are critical in assuring that technical security equipment runs optimally. It is surprising how many times I see people spend significant amounts of money installing or upgrading a technical security system, but then fail to invest in a fraction of the installation cost to keep it properly maintained by professionals who understand the systems. Maintenance programs protect investments by proactively eliminating system failures, increasing the life expectancy of the equipment, and ensuring the system performs properly so that security is not compromised.
Technical security and other low voltage solutions are living systems. They require proper maintenance and support to ensure proper functionality. They also experience down time periodically, which is why prompt service from the provider is critical. Without prompt service, end users are left on the edge of their seat hoping their systems don’t experience any glitches. Integration companies should understand the importance of providing prompt service and follow through, but that often isn’t the case.
